As a citizen of the great state of Wisconsin, I’ve noticed a push by our governor, Scott Walker, to educate and train the workforce for manufacturing jobs.
During Greater Green Bay Chamber’s Manufacturing Awards of Distinction dinner honoring local businesses last week, he talked about the importance of manufacturing in Wisconsin.
"In this state alone, manufacturing pays about 20 percent more than other jobs," said Governor Walker. “There are some really exciting things happening at our technical college," he continued. "We've got an exciting opportunity to build off of that. We are going to focus on programs that respond more to the needs of students and employees."
Jonathan Darling, president of Romo Durable Graphics was included on a discussion panel of manufacturers during the dinner. He said his company creates a work environment that fosters creativity and isn't afraid of failure in the service of discovery.
“Since our founding in 1953, ‘Discovery’ in the world of durable graphics has been at the heart of everything we do. From making daily life easier for our clients to game-changing technology, we’re on a quest to find better ways. It’s ingrained in our culture. Everyone on our team has an important role in the discovery process.”
Romo Durable Graphics was recently highlighted during a Manufacturing Marvels segment on Fox Business Network.
We are a proud member of the manufacturing force in Wisconsin.
