Ever wonder how long labels can sit in inventory and still be usable?
Well, you’re not alone. It’s the Number One question we receive from our customers! Dusty old packages might be just fine. But it depends on several factors; decal construction, temperature swings, humidity level, and environmental surface locale.
First things first – what is Shelf Life? Shelf life is the period of time a “finished graphic” remains suitable for normal application sitting in inventory.
It is NOT the installed life of the decal.
A good rule of thumb is 12 months. One year maximum length of time holding onto inventory. The longer it sits, the better chance it may start to curl because the ink and overlam could shrinks if not applied to a surface.
